How to plan a timeless and classic wedding

Congratulations to all the newly engaged couples! Did you know that between New Years eve and Valentines day is the most popular time of the year couples get engaged? So if you’re newly engaged you are probably starting the wedding planning process and seeing all the wedding trends for 2021 and you might be trying do decide if you want a trendy wedding or a classic wedding. If you are a fan of the classics and need some inspiration you’ve come to the right place. Here are some wedding detail ideas that will stand the test of times and still be beautiful for years to come! Here are some wedding ideas that will be beautiful and timeless!

1 : SIMPLE WHITE INVITATIONS

Clean and crisp white invitations set the tone for a classic and timeless wedding, with simple laser cut details and a focus on the font. You can customize your invitation suite by adding your monogram in a letterpress script as an elegant touch. If your budget allows for a professional calligraphist you can have the addresses hand written for a luxurious finish.

2 : A WHITE WEDDING DRESS

A traditional white dress is not only timeless but also beautiful! No matter the neckline an a-line silhouette transcends decades. If the ball gown isn’t what you envision but you still want a traditional look choose a simple satin gown with small touches of beaded embroidery or lace details might be right for you. Polish off your look with with a set pearls and a pair of Badgley Mischka wedding shoes!

3 : A LONG VEIL

One of my favorite bridal accessories is a traditional long, sweeping veil, after all they are beautiful and feminine. And we can’t forget those “veil shots” in your wedding photos, always a beautiful photo!

4 : WEDDING HAIRSTYLES

You can channel inner ballerina with a simple and classic bun or low chignon. This hairstyle is that has stood throughout years of style changes. Other classic hair styles would be half-up with curls, side swept, or all down with glamours waves.

5 : MATCHING BRIDAL PARTY

The mix-and-match trend is beautiful, but it's also a trend that you might not see in weddings in a few years. However, matching gowns will guarantee your bridal party look will stand the test of time. Same goes with the groomsmen attire too. Matching suits or tuxes with coordinating accessories will polish off your bridal party.

6 : THE TUX

A black or dark navy tux always looks sharp, dapper and classic. Pair it with a satin tie, pocket square, cufflinks, and black shoes to finish off the look.

7 : FLORALS

When I think “classic wedding flowers”, roses immediately come to mind. They have such a timeless, romantic feel and they are always in season. Roses come in a large variety of colors, sizes and did you know there are more than 100 different kinds of roses? You will have so many different varieties to choose from when it comes to your bouquet, ceremony and reception decor it won’t be boring! When it comes to the table top arrangements add height for an elegant finish. You also can put a modern spin on a timeless look with a unique vase.

8: YOUR VENUE

You can make almost any wedding venue fit a classic wedding theme as long as the colors and decor are flow, but traditionally venues such as country clubs, ballrooms, a large estate or luxury hotels are generally considered a classic wedding venue. To insure a classic feel to your wedding avoid anything that gives a more rustic vibe. If you want an outdoor wedding but still keep it timeless then look for venues that have a European garden or courtyard.

9 : DECOR

When it comes to your decor chose items that are that are timeless, for example fine china, candles, votives, chiavari chairs , and luxury table linens. Keep the decor relatively understated with an elegant and sophisticated color palette that gives a cohesive look, avoiding flashy neon colors. You can have candles lining pathways, ceremony aisles or as part as the centerpieces, candles are a classic way to create a soft, romantic feel.

10 : THE SEATING CHART

A framed seating chart is not only beautiful, but it provides an easy and organized way for guests to find their seats.

11 : WHITE CEREMONY CHAIRS

Simple white chairs never fail to stand out and make a statement, especially when they are against the decor and flowers of the ceremony.

12 : COCKTAIL TABLES

Cocktail tables stand out with a simple ribbon wrapped around the tablecloth and finished off the a simple floral arrangement.

13 : PLACE CARDS

Have paper place cards in a pop of color against neutral tones for a timeless look and feel. Make sure to use the same font that was on your wedding invitation for a united look.

14 : TABLE SETTING

The trick to a timeless table setting combines, lace or satin table cloth, a simple napkin fold, followed by beautiful china, dinner menu, and placards with your guests names on it.

15 : GUEST BOOK

There are many trendy ways to create a guest book, but there is something special about an actual hand written guest book, customized to fit your style. You can have one customized with your monogram and wedding date as an added touch.

16: THE CAKE

It wouldn’t be a classic wedding without a traditional wedding cake. According to The Knot “Whether you choose fresh flowers for your wedding cake or intricate sugar flowers as decoration, the incorporation of flowers is one of the most timeless wedding cake design techniques.” You can still infuse you’re on personal taste by adding a fun wedding cake topper.

17 : THE EXIT

There's no other way to end the perfect day than in getaway car with "Just Married" across the back. Step it up a notch by renting a classic car, even if it’s just for photos.
